Grand-popo

Grand-Popo est une commune et une ville côtière du sud-ouest du Bénin située dans la baie du Bénin, à proximité de la frontière togolaise, au sein du département du Mono. 

Les plages de sable, la proximité de l'embouchure du fleuve Mono (Bouche du Roy), le patrimoine architectural colonial ou les cérémonies du culte vaudou en font l'une des destinations touristiques majeures du pays.

Plusieurs langues y sont parlées dont le xwla-gbé, le fon et l'éwé. Ce sont principalement des populations Xwla (ou Pla) à l'ouest et dans les zones lagunaires, des Xuéla (ou Pédah) dans le nord-est, et des Guen (ou Mina) sur le littoral.

Grand-Popo is a commune and coastal town in southwest Benin located in the Bay of Benin, near the Togolese border, within the Mono department. 

The sandy beaches, the proximity of the mouth of the Mono river (Bouche du Roy), the colonial architectural heritage and the voodoo cult ceremonies make it one of the major tourist destinations in the country.

Several languages ​​are spoken there including Xwla-Gbé, Fon and Ewe. They are mainly Xwla (or Pla) populations in the west and in the lagoon areas, Xuéla (or Pédah) in the northeast, and Guen (or Mina) on the coast.

Grand-Popo ist eine Gemeinde und Küstenstadt im Südwesten Benins in der Bucht von Benin, nahe der togolesischen Grenze, im Departement Mono. 

Die Sandstrände, die Nähe zur Mündung des Flusses Mono (Bouche du Roy), das koloniale Architekturerbe und die Voodoo-Kultzeremonien machen es zu einem der wichtigsten Touristenziele des Landes.
